Authorization
The Commander, I Corps and Fort Lewis has overall responsibility
for management of the environmental and natural resources of Fort Lewis.
Public Works (PW), Fort Lewis is the staff directorate responsible for
managing environmental compliance, conservation, protection, and other
environmental programs. The Environmental and Natural Resources Division
(ENRD) of PW is the installation environmental office and is responsible
for day to day management of the Fort Lewis environmental program.
The PW Environmental Management System (EMS)
is intended to be conformant with the criteria defined in the international
standard, ISO 14001:96 Environmental management systems - Specification
with guidance for use.
This Environmental Management Manual provides
an overview of the PW implementation of the EMS.
Scope
This Environment Management Manual (EMM) describes the PW Environmental
Management System (EMS).
This EMM applies to the activities, services,
operations, facilities and all personnel assigned to PW, Fort Lewis,
WA.
